Description
Turmeric is added to curries and dals as a slightly bitter, peppery scented spice. It gives curry powders their golden yellow colour and brings out the flavours of your food. The curcumin that gives the turmeric its yellow colour and the bitter substances it naturally contains are important properties of the spice.
