The founders of Birkengold came up with the idea of making and marketing their own xylitol after they brought it back home with them as a holiday souvenir. It can be used to sweeten a variety of dishes, as well as for baking. Birch sugar leaves no unpleasant aftertaste and is just as sweet as sugar. It can even be used to sweeten cosmetics, such as toothpaste.
